Anjos com Armas – Sérgio Camargo, Lygia Clark, Mira Schendel, and Hélio Oiticica: Pinakotheke São Paulo

21 October - 16 December 2023

Art critic Yve-Alain Bois invited Pinakotheke to publish the exhibition Anjos com Armas, which tells the story of the friendship between British critic and curator Guy Brett and Filipino artist David Medalla, one of the founders of the legendary Signals gallery in London. Under Guy Brett's guidance, the following exhibited: Sergio Camargo, Lygia Clark, Mira Schendel and, later, after the closure of Signals, at the White Chapel, Hélio Oiticica.

Guy Brett has always been an excellent reference for a better understanding of artistic production in Brazil since the 1960s in Europe. His friendship with these artists in the 1960s, and later with Lygia Pape, Cildo Meireles, Antonio Manuel, Tunga, Waltercio Caldas, Regina Vater, Roberto Evangelista, Maria Thereza Alves, Jac Leirner, Ricardo Basbaum and Sonia Lins, enabled the dissemination of artistic production internationally, through several articles and books.
