The São Paulo Association of Art Critics awarded Pinakotheke the best retrospective of the year 2022 with the exhibition "Rubem Valentim – Sagrada Geometry".
The exhibition brought to São Paulo a bit of the trajectory of this artist from Bahia, a genuine representative of Afro-descendant art in the country and owner of a unique gift for mixing art, religion and all the syncretism that lives in our culture.
In 2023, the exhibition opened at Pinakotheke Cultural headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, and featured almost 100 works by the artist under the curatorship of Max Perlingeiro and Bené Fonteles, author of the book of the same name.
"During the period in which it was on display, we observed through the public's reaction how impactful and relevant this artist's work is", says Max Perlingeiro.
