Pinakotheke Cultural in Rio de Janeiro is pleased to invite you to the exhibition “Luz de Abril, Portugal, 1974”, featuring 38 photographs by Alécio de Andrade (1938-2003) that record the Revolução dos Cravos underway in the European country.
Alécio de Andrade is one of the great names in Brazilian photography.
The artist was the first photographer in the country to partner with the legendary Magnum Photos, a world-renowned French agency created by Henri Cartier-Bresson.
There are 38 images captured by the lens of his Leica, in black and white and in color, that portray the historical moments of this historic crossroads in Portugal, as well as the reactions of society and the characters of the Revolution.
