The Galeria Multiarte is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Dinheiro Vivo” by Vik Muniz on March 27, 2025. The show features two remarkable groups of works: pieces that recreate the animals depicted on Brazilian banknotes and reinterpretations of 19th-century landscapes inspired by traveling artists.
One of the highlights is the recreation of “Landscape in the Interior of the Tropical Forest in Brazil with Figures” by Johann Moritz Rugendas, originally painted in 1842. The original painting will be displayed alongside Vik Muniz’s interpretation, creating a fascinating dialogue between past and present.
The exhibition is the result of a partnership between Multiarte and Galeria Nara Roesler, which represents the artist. Born in São Paulo in 1961, Vik Muniz divides his time between New York and Rio de Janeiro, and his work holds a prominent place in the international contemporary art scene.
